OMG! Today is a day I will remember for the rest of my life. My day started off with stress, but turned into a very very proud moment.

Today was a typical Tuesday, and I woke up this morning knowing that I would study all day long for my economics exam at 2 o’clock. The exam was going to be difficult and confusing, and I was definitely stressing about how well I would do. I entered the exam feeling tired, overwhelmed, and ready to be done with it.

Well, flash forward to after my exam…. my mind was working overtime and my brain felt almost dead, but the first thing I did after I left my test was check my email – because even after an exam the work never stops. But the email I saw was special – it was an email from the Alabama School of Business congratulating me on my GPA and asking me to come pick up my red graduation cap.

If you don’t know, at an Alabama graduation ceremony, students wear black – black gowns and black caps. However, Alabama awards a red graduation cap to any student that achieves a 4.0 GPA when working towards their degree. Yes, it’s cumulative. And yes, it’s 8 semesters, 120 hours, worth of class time.

When I saw the email, I immediately got excited. Of course I knew my grades, and I knew that red hats were a thing, but there’s nothing quite like holding one in your hand that makes you feel proud. Proud of the last 4 years, proud of how hard you’ve worked, and proud of all the accomplishments you’ve achieved.

I know it’s just a hat – a silly and cheap piece of fabric that will probably make my head look a little crooked and a little wonky – But, that’s not the point. It’s not the hat that matters, it’s the symbolism behind it.

After 4 year of hard work, long nights, and countless Quizlets, I finally got my red cap. Everything feels surreal. I can’t believe that I’ll graduate college in 6 weeks time. Bottom line – hard work pays off.

Work hard towards your goals, even when they seem impossible. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to. And don’t forget to be proud of yourself. You’ve come so far and achieved so much – and that’s worth celebrating!

3 Ways to Style a Sweater during the Fall and Winter

September 7, 2019

Striped Chenille sweater paired with jeans and over the knee boots for fall
how to style the same sweater 3 different ways - jeans, leggings, and skirts

I am so excited for fall weather to come! One of my favorite items during the fall is an oversized knit sweater – it is so comfortable to wear, keeps you warm, and can be worn SO many different ways. In today’s post I’ve style one of my favorite sweaters 3 different ways to give y’all some outfit inspo for fall! This sweater is one of the softest pieces of clothing that I have EVER felt – it’s the popular chenille material! And I’m obsessed with how cute the color & stripes are! I’ll link it here.

First up is probably my favorite way to wear a sweater – with a good pair of jeans obviously!!! You can front tuck your sweater or just let it fall naturally (both are so cute, it’s just a personal preference!). Here I’ve paired the outfit with over the knee boots, but you could always wear booties, riding boots, or wedges too!

Second way to wear a chunky knit sweater is to dress it up with a skirt! It’s so easy to go from day time to night time by throwing on any skirt and tucking the sweater into the front! Also, another way to dress up the outfit is to wear a hat – I feel like a hat instantly elevates any outfit (you’ll look put together even if you’re actually not lol!). To finish the outfit I wore some of my favorite gold earrings and booties and BAM! That’s all there is too it! Not so difficult right?!

Okay the last way to wear a sweater during the fall is just to stay comfy and rock a fitness look! I love wearing leggings with a sweater especially for walking to class and staying warm when the weather gets freezing. If it’s really cold outside, adding a vest can help keep you warm while also adding style! So perfect! Also, sneakers are great when you know you’ll be walking around a lot – or even if you’re just going for a more “athleisure” type of look. Otherwise, you could easily wear some boots or booties instead!

Honestly, one of the reasons I love fall so much is because I get to wear cozy sweaters!! It’s so fun to find a sweater and just imagine all the different outfits you could make with it. I hope y’all liked this post & got some inspiration for all your fall outfits! Hopefully the weather will cool down soon!
