Makeup You Can’t Live Without

July 27, 2018

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3224562″]

Due to popular demand on instagram, today I am talking all about my current beauty favs! There have been so many new releases, and the beauty industry seem to be blowing up lately. I’ve always loved makeup and trying new products, so this is super exciting!!

Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer

My first product is sooo good! This one definitely takes the cake for my absolute favorite product right now – it blew me away!! The Two Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer has completely replaced Tarte Shape Tape for me! I have a very dry skin type, and I found that Shape Tape would sometimes cling to my dry spots. It was also pretty thick – and in this southern heat thick concealer turns cakey real quick! So when I found the new Too Faced concealer I was overjoyed. It’s so buttery – it glides on and blends out with minimal effort. AND it’s full coverage without being too thick on your face (I don’t know about y’all, but the less makeup I feel on my face, the better!!). To top it off, the concealer has WAY more product at about the same cost as others – however, this makes the packaging very large (but I find I can still travel with it no problem!). This product is a dream. I highly recommend trying it if you have normal to dry skin! Karina still swears by Shape Tape, but this has been a total game changer for my makeup routine – let us know what you think!

Nordstrom Sale Dupes

July 20, 2018

Happy Thursday!

Is anyone else tired of all of the Nordstrom Sale posts? I think if you log onto your feed right now, you’ll see at least 10 posts talking about it – and it goes on for weeks and weeks to cover early access and regular admission. Don’t get me wrong – I love sales! But I think it’s fair to say this one if a little over done. We get it – Nordstrom is having a sale, but is it THAT GOOD? I decided to test it out, and I found so many dupes that are even cheaper than the Nordstrom sale prices! Save your money and pick up these items instead – your wallet will thank you.

Happy Friday! You may have seen from our Insta feed that Olivia and I just spent a week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! Some of you may know that we own a villa there, so we go and stay there for at least a week every year. We’ve been going for years and years, so we’re really familiar with all of the spots you should hit if you’re traveling there.

Preview – Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Catalog

July 7, 2018

The Annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is around the corner – early access starts on July 12th for Nordstrom cardholders. If you’ve never hear of the sale I’ll give you a little run down before we get into my picks!

This is the biggest sale of the year for Nordstrom!! Basically, at the end of July every year Nordstrom puts their most loved fall items on sale for you to buy before the season starts. These sale are MAJOR – especially as the items go up in prices – so, if you’re buying a designer piece that costs hundreds of dollars it could be marked down almost $100 dollars but if you’re buying something smaller it may only be a few dollars off (but everything counts right?!). They have all categories of items marked down – from clothing and shoes, to handbags, accessories, and more.

I highly recommend getting a Nordstrom card if you don’t already have one, but want to get in on the sale. I normally wouldn’t fret over having to wait a week or two to buy something you’ve had your eye on, but I’m telling you – in this sale the good stuff goes QUICK. So definitely don’t wait!! But, if you still decide to shop the sale as a non-cardholder, it opens to the public on July 20th.

Here is a list of some of my fav items from the 2018 catalog:

Hotel Reviews – Where to Stay in Europe

June 29, 2018

Today I thought I’d share all the pros and cons of each hotel I stayed at during my European Study Abroad. I recently posted my Europe Travel Vlog (so if you haven’t seen that go check out the post before this one!), but if you haven’t been following along so far, last month I traveled to 7 different European Cities on a study abroad trip! So yes, 7 different cities means 7 separate hotels! So, let’s get into it…

London, England – University of Richmond Atlantic House

Since I was studying abroad through the University of Richmond located in London, I actually stayed in the University of Richmond dorm called Atlantic House. And since I realized as I was typing this that this location is not open to the public, nor is it a hotel, let’s just skip on down to my second city…

Amsterdam, Netherlands – Park Hotel Amsterdam

The Park Hotel was one of the nicest hotels that I stayed at! The lobby had a very luxurious feel with dim lighting, comfy couches, pastry bar, and fireplace that gave an overall calm and soothing mood. It was easy to get work done in the lobby when I needed because it was usually quiet and not crowded. In addition, our actually room was fantastic as well. Although I do not know exactly which type of room we stayed in, I did note that the bathroom was gorgeous. From black tile to deluxe soaps, it was definitely an overall win! Aside from the amenities this hotel had to offer, it was also in a great location for traveling Amsterdam! It was only a short walk to many restaurants and bars, shopping areas, and tourist areas like the Rijksmuseum and Heineken Brewery.

Paris, France – Citadines Bastille Marais

The Citadines Bastille Marais had a bit of a small hotel lobby, but there was a 24/7 coffee bar for guests (which always comes in handy!!). The coffee bar was stocked with all the essentials – cream, sugar, brown sugar – and the coffee machine brewed lattes and cappuccinos as well! Furthermore, the rooms are apartment style which means you have a full kitchen area, small dining table, and desk included in your room. As part of our program, we also reserved the “Meeting Room” for our class sessions. It was a spacey room with about 45 chairs and a projector that acted as an excellent classroom for our purposes (would be a great area for business meetings too!). The only downside was that this hotel seemed to be a little ways from the museum attractions like the Louvre or Musee D’Orsay and the Eiffel Tower – however, I will say that Paris is a HUGE city, and being close to everything just isn’t realistic.
