Happy Friday! You may have seen from our Insta feed that Olivia and I just spent a week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! Some of you may know that we own a villa there, so we go and stay there for at least a week every year. We’ve been going for years and years, so we’re really familiar with all of the spots you should hit if you’re traveling there.
Let’s start with restaurants. I feel like the food is one of the staples in the Mexican culture, so we have to start with where to eat! There are a ton of restaurants in the area, but our top favorites are below:
This is a must for Cabo! It’s located right on Médano beach, so it’s a super easy and popular spot to hit. It’s an outdoor, beach restaurant that has signature blue umbrellas covering all of the tables. There are beach vendors that can approach you and show you handmade goods, along with a mariachi band that will sing to your table for tips. We always go here for lunch, but I think you can check it out for dinner as well.
Edith’s is a classic spot for dinner in Cabo. I have seen so many famous people at this restaurant because everyone knows about it! The decor at this restaurant is insane! There are so many flowers, plants, and colors everywhere. I really feel like it embodies what you would picture as Mexico! They serve fresh seafood everyday and have a large variety on their menu.
This place is slightly outside of Cabo, but it is worth the drive! It is way out in the desert, but when you pull up, I promise you will be amazed! This restaurant is truly a farm – yes, a farm – in the middle of the desert. It is greener than anything I have seen! It is on a huge piece of land, and it includes a lot more than just the restaurant. They grow and raise all of their food, and they have a ton of cottages that people actually live in. It’s all organic, and the food is amazing. Words can’t do this place justice!
Things to do:
You definitely have to stop by Médano Beach. There are so many water-sports that you can do at this beach by just walking up to the vendor stands. We have gone jet skiing and parasailing too many times to count here, and it is so fun! You can also take a day cruise to the famous Arc and see Lover’s Beach.
Go on a Tequila Tour! Tequila is famous in Mexico, and you can go on a tour to learn how they make it. There are options that include hikes and other culture learning experiences as well. It’s super cool.
Ride camels. YES, CAMELS! In the desert! It is seriously amazing. We’ve done this twice, and it does not get old. You get to ride camels along the beach and participate in a few hikes through the desert.
Where to Stay:
We always stay at Esperanza. As I mentioned, we own a villa at that resort, so that’s why we always stay there. However, they also have a hotel side to the resort that you can stay at if you don’t own a property. It’s pricey, but I highly recommend for a luxury experience. You cannot beat the services and views!
