Cameron and I have always enjoyed baking and cooking together, but sometimes we just don’t have the time! Since we’re in quarantine mode now, we’ve been able to make a ton of our favorite recipes. So I thought I’d share them with y’all so you can have some yummy food while passing the time too!
Chocolate Chip Cookies: Who doesn’t love a nice, warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie? I know I do!! Chocolate has always been my weakness, and a couple years ago we went on the hunt to find the very best chocolate chip cookie recipe out there. After making TONS of them, we found this one which has quickly become the one and only recipe we use! It tells you to form the dough into the size of golf balls, and yes this seems absolutely gigantic, but DO NOT MAKE THEM SMALLER!! This makes them come out SO GOOD! They are puffy (not too flat like most others), chocolatey, and absolutely delicious! We prefer to use less chocolate chips than the recipe calls for, but that’s all up to personal preference!
Sugar Cookies: Once you find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe, you wind up looking for other fantastic cookie recipes to bake. Sugar cookies? Sounds good to me! These are interesting because they take all dry ingredients (except for eggs if those count?!). But again, they don’t come out flat at all – there’s nothing worse to me than a flat, crunchy, overcooked cookie. These come out chewy, puffy, and sweet…. as they should!!
Biscuits: If you know me, you know I love two things more than anything in the world… breakfast and bread LOL. So of course biscuits are one of my favorite foods! These biscuits come out super flakey and buttery!! But the best part… this recipe is quick, easy, and only has 6 ingredients (that you probably keep in your pantry anyway!). The recipe calls for 6 tablespoons of butter, but I recommend adding a little more (7-8 tablespoons), depending on how buttery you want them to taste!
Waffles: I know this is the second breakfast recipe, but you can have breakfast for dinner too right?! I’m a sucker for waffles and syrup in the morning. And to be honest… we usually make them from an easy box mix! But when you’re in quarantine and your mix runs out, you have to make do with what you have! So, we found this recipe that is simple and fast and makes a dang good waffle when you need (or just want) one!
Broccoli Cheddar Soup: The one meal I miss most of all in quarantine is Panera’s broccoli cheddar soup. I’m a HUGE fan. I mean.. I could eat Panera soup for every meal until I die and I would be perfectly content!! So, naturally, since Cameron is the chef of our house (I mostly just bake & make sweets… oops), he went on the hunt for the best at home broccoli cheddar soup. Ladies, I highly recommend getting a man that will make you your favorite meal haha!! But after trying about 5 or 6 different recipes, I’ve come to the conclusion that this one is the best! It’s also the quickest & easiest one we’ve tried to that’s a win too! We usually use a little less broccoli than it calls for, but I guess it depends on how large your heads of broccoli are!
Hope y’all get some use out of these recipes over the next few weeks! I promise the taste will not disappoint… and it’s fun to make them too!
