Thanksgiving Treats

November 24, 2016

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone’s enjoying the holiday with family and friends. One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is the delicious food (of course!). I love making cute little desserts and playing around with fun recipes – these cupcakes are so festive and very quick and easy! Below I’ve written step by step instructions so that you can recreate this adorable dessert for your holiday.

Ingredients:

1 Box Betty Crocker yellow cake mix
1 Can Betty Crocker milk chocolate frosting
1 Can Betty Crocker vanilla frosting
1 Bag of Candy Corn
1 Bag mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
1 Bag M&M’s
Food Coloring

Step 1: Follow the directions on the cake mix box to bake 24 tasty cupcakes!

Step 2: Once you have baked the cupcakes and let them cool, frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting – make sure the cupcakes have cooled fully so that the frosting stays in place and doesn’t melt away.

Step 3: Unwrap the mini Reese’s cups. Place one on the bottom of each of the cupcakes.

Step 4: Place 5 candy corns above each Reese’s cup. I wanted symmetry so I dispersed them evenly, but you can place them however you’d like!

Step 5: Gather the orange M&M’s. Cut each M&M in half. Use frosting to “glue” the M&M to the bottom of the Reese’s cup. Tip: to make it easier use a ziploc bag as a piping bag by cutting a small hole in the corner.

Step 6: Use the same technique with vanilla icing and pipe on small dots as eyes.

Step 7: Repeat with black frosting for the pupils inside the eyes – to make the black coloring I used the food dye on the vanilla frosting.

Step 8: Use red food coloring to dye vanilla frosting. Use the same piping bag technique on the side of the Reese’s cup to create the turkey’s wattle – lol does anyone actually know that’s what the red part is called?

That’s all! Enjoy this delicious and quick dessert with your family!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
